How to get the highest grade resins or oils from your plants using BubbleSacs

You will need a 20-litre bucket, an electric mixer, frozen herb/ petals and ice (1 kilo for every 150 grams of herb).

  1. Insert the various BubbleSac filters into the bucket in order of finest filter first (don't worry - the bags are numbered).

  2. Fill the bucket with cold water making sure you leave enough room for the herbs/ petals and ice. The sacs will sink as they become wet. Make sure there is no air between the sacs and bucket.

  3. Add ice and stand for a few minutes to allow the water temperature to drop below 4 degrees C.

  4. Add the herb/ petals to the ice water. You can process up to 350grams of herb/ petals per sitting.

  5. Using the electric mixer, agitate the contents of the BubbleSac for 15 minutes to free the crystals. Allow five minutes for the crystals to sink before repeating the process as many times as necessary (4 times is usually enough).

Tip: If your bucket has a lid, cut a hole in it to accommodate the mixer, but do make sure the sacs don't become caught in the mixer.

  1. When mixing is complete leave the crystals to sink for thirty minutes.

  2. Remove the BubbleSacs one by one making sure that nothing falls into the water to contaminate the crystals. Drain the sacs into the bucket so that the next sac can collect all the crystals.

Tip: After removing the sacs, run clean water over the collected resin on the screen. This will eliminate any green left in the hash and leave a better flavour.

  1. Crumble the damp crystals and leave them to dry for five to ten days before bonding. Proper drying over time will give a superior flavour or scent.

  2. Press and enjoy!
